Those are rough with sharp cuts. But I treat those as free gifts so doesn't affect my rating of the rope.Very happy with the purchase.I bought 2 of these ropes primarily for working around trees. Each came with 2 carabiners for the looped ends. The rope seems to be well built for my purpose, however, the 2 carabiners that came with each rope are a joke. They were machined by a drunk monkey I presume. Fortunately, I have professional carabiners on hand. The carabiners they sent were so poorly machined that it was hilarious. The flanged part would not fit into the other end and the metal seemed to come from some junk store. The only way to engage the flanged end was to use a hammer. These are toss aways. Whoever was the Quality Control Person for these items was asleep at the wheel. I made this purchase for the ropes, not the carabiners, so the company should just toss away the carabiners and quit wasting your time and the customer's expectations.I like that this is a nice strong rope that is not very heavy.
